I don’t know whyyyy but there’s something in particular about these Badjao children that reminds me of my past. Good luck figuring it out!Tweet

Splash! So I just took a load off from that nerve-wracking (not to mention stressful) school year and the governor’s anchor has finally been dropped from this blogger’s account of titanic. They say summer is the best season, and the thing about it is that *drum-roll please*, you don’t have to worry about homework! So who’s up for some summer swell with a little salt in the air and sand in your hair?
For this getaway, we stayed at Paradise Cove Beach Resort, located at Kimaya, Misamis Oriental. This place is a lot amusing with your friends and family (or could be a personal sanctuary, if you’d wish for some me-time). I was quickly enamored coz’ it literally feels like paradise.
Oops! They probably mean specialty.
The resort is open for weddings and birthday celebrations. You can rent a room for Php 800 (for 12 hours) and Php 1,200 (for 24 hours) and then, you can definitely invite a herd of beach-hungry friends. No maximum number required! No entrance fee needed! Amazing?
Now that I’m back to being a style and travel blogger (permanently hopefully), I couldn’t help but cringe at the hype that this season brings. Consequently, I have to admit that these two months of getaways and ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ have both been my transitional and preparatory period from being a public servant to a blithe bohemian traveler. I probably would be spending more time here in my blog from now on. My mantra this summer? Be one with the waves.
A wise man once anonymously pronounced, "Forget love, I’d rather fall in chocolate." Equally in the same manner, I don’t need someone at the moment; I am just as happy (if not happier) with some cheesy romance movies and a little box of red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Coz’ the 14th of February is Single Awareness Day!
Today is also the perfect time to recognize your gorgeous girlfriends who love and accept you for who you are. Perhaps that is the ultimate reason why I love Valentine’s Day; everyone is wearing that occasional joyful smile that we usually don’t get to see. Fulfilling, as always.
And because I happen to really celebrate this holiday, it has become an annual tradition for me to give something sweet to those ladies who have touched my heart one way or another. You see, a woman’s heart is so soft that a simple act of romantic stunt can really make her happy. Really happy, as I’ve come to see it in my girlfriends’ eyes through the years. Well, the effort is totally worth it!
Who says I didn’t have a date (more like dates) last Valentine’s Day!? I actually had plenty. Hashtag, to all the girls I’ve loved before.
You know you love me. XOXO, Little Prime Suspect.
Ever since I became Governor, I have developed this little fascination to the color yellow. Not that it is the brightest hue of the spectrum; it stands for something else, something deep and unfathomable. As I sense the imminent time to finally shift gears and wrap myself up back to blogging, here’s a squint of my first outfit post of the year!
WHAT I’M WEARING: Dirty White Button Down (LXDCOUNT Design), Yellow-Brown Plaid Parka (The Mighty), Yellow Slim Fit Denim Jeans (Penshoppe), Wristwatch (Penshoppe), Bracelets (SM Accessories) and Light Brown Winter Boots (Thrifted).
After being discharged from the hospital, my creativity certainly needs a good jump start. In actuality, it is limping along on life support. I might need the full paddles and someone to yell ‘clear’ now, hence, the "The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine" inspiration.
Unsettling as it may sound, I’ve been having a jiffy of profound moments with myself lately; focusing on mundane things like daydreaming rather than writing blog posts, or sketching, or the usual book review. Somehow, I need to have a catalyst to regain my inner creativity and refuel my passion for fashion. ‘Til then, I couldn’t possibly think of any other hobby aside from outfit posts.
You’d probably think that being diagnosed with acalculous cholecystitis (and asked to minimize, if not restrict, my fatty and salty intake) would curb my enthusiasm for the salty delights: no, it doesn’t. I once altogether swore to not eat fries again, but urgh, there are a million reasons why you just can’t say no to french fries!
Most especially if these french fries are served (for the lack of a better word) unlimited-ly. All you need is to buy one of their burger specialties every Tuesday (we now love Tuesdays, right?), and voila, the golden ticket to unlimited fries is yours (no sharing, of course).
Double Flamoo Burger (Php 139). This big-mac-sized burger is made up of Patty, Cheese, Apple Coleslaw and a bunch of veggies, served with thick-out fries. Drinks are exclusive, available at Php 30.
Whether they are curly, criss cut, shoestring, steak or seasoned, it really doesn’t matter; we just love French fries. Flamoo also serves a variety of grilled specials ranging from sizzling steak meals, Baked Mac N’ Cheese and buffalo wings. Plus, their burger specials, especially the Thomas Aquinas Burger (Php 199) is indeed for royalty.
Flamoo, Flame-Grilled Burgers is located at The Strip, Quezon Avenue Extension, Pala-o, Iligan City. Unlimited French Fries every Tuesday!
This wasn’t really the major TUMBLR comeback (more like throwback) that I had in mind, though I had my previous attempts at finding my way back to blogging, it isn’t enough still. I admit I must have lost the ardor for inventive photo shoot conceptualizations — or simply the break for outfit-hunting and a couple of me-times, but y’know what they say, better late than never, right? Now I’m signing in once again!
Hashtag THROWBACKTHURSDAY (though it’s a rainy Monday HAHA) because this blog, for the week at least, will feature throwback outfits that I failed to post online. So to start with, here’s my pursuit at capturing the essence of the iconic musical “Grease”, thus the title. (Scratch the fact that this was taken, for like, a year ago.)
Bought this brown leather bag on a thrift shop at a very low price!
I don’t know why but every time I look at this photo, I can’t help but laugh at my hilariously silly hair styling (in which apparently, I haven’t that much of a talent). Though I happen to miss the copper-ness of my hair, I have no intentions of re-creating this whole image at all.
That’s probably it for now.Still need to go to school today to prepare for tomorrow’s enrollment process: you know the drill, got loads of paper works to do. I will be posting a lot of stuff this week though, so keep posted. Hype this look on LOOKBOOK.NU. Muchas gracias!
Seasons of greetings, seasons of joy! What supposed to be a one-day social gathering has turned out to be a month-long yuletide celebration. Oops, make that four -ber months! This is the time when we wait for our favorite guardian Jack Frost to randomly sweep snowflakes unto our busy roads (how I wish). And even our Spanish amigos are sending their Feliz Navidad holiday greetings. Coz’ one thing’s for sure, baby: SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN!
WHAT I’M WEARING: Light Blue Button Down (Penshoppe), Nerdy Glasses (Ray Ban) Black Blazer and Santa Claus boxer shorts.
Okay, so I have successfully turned our miniature room into a little studio. Bought 4 meters of green cloth and searched for 8 thumbtacks to assemble the whole thing. Further convinced my Lil’ brother, Abing, to take the photos (which he gladly and surprisingly did). Awesome persuasion skills I got there!
Kinda had a trivial problem figuring out the whole outfit. My closet’s in Iligan and I only bought an insufficient number of clothes with me, enough to last for the holidays (which explains the lack of style and ensemble)! So, no hate! Spread the love instead! HAHA.
That’s my 10-year-old camera from Mom out there! Doesn’t work though. Never got the chance to use it (like, ever). Sucks!
Those Santa Claus boxer shorts.. ohh la la, they’re lovely. And got another aim today: to also train my other brother in photography! HAHA. He’s got the skills (but unlike Nico), he lacks the passion! Will figure out what to do with him next week. Happy holidays, everyone!
After years of searching for the probable truth behind the Mayan prediction, the startling (and seemingly stupid, I think) question "Is the world gonna end?" has finally put to a halt. Numerous theories have risen, and frightening explanations have been made on the anticipated Armageddon. Today is the day that we got to prove those theories wrong. It’s December 21, 2012: and I am still alive!
Black Airwalk sneakers from my Little Bro, Nico, who happen to be my photographer in this fashion installation. He totally did exceed my expectations. For an absolute newbie (and a too-cool-for-school teenager), he knows how to take a good shot! Pure talent, baby.
Awesome wings + Herculean rings bought for a very low price.
I am planning to personally train my brother in photography. Not just for my lookbook entries but for his benefit too. Who knows he might want to pursue it after college. No one knows for sure. I can definitely see a huge potential in him! This kind of talent really needs harnessing. Besides, a good student needs a good teacher, right?
Three days before Christmas: there is no other place like home! Last night, we prayed the rosary for my uncle’s speedy recovery, and the feeling of praying together was an infinite delight. I am surely looking forward to more rosary sessions with my family. I really wish Mom was here though. We miss her so much! Merry Christmas, in advance!
December 17, 2012. A year of seemingly lingering recovery and psychological restoration had passed, but remnants of the unforeseen catastrophe nicknamed Sendong that took thousands of lives in Mindanao are still evident. I am a living witness of the abominable tragedy! It’s not that I was directly affected by the storm. I was more than lucky not to experience the calamity myself, but more clearly, I wasn’t spared from the slow crushing agony of seeing people weep in pain because they lost their homes and families. So in commemoration, here’s a tribute to the Sendong victims!
Here’s the same “One For Iligan” shirt I acquired a year ago!
In actuality, I was completely out of shirts to wear (by out, I mean, scarcity of new shirts) and I was staring wholeheartedly at my closet for quite a time realizing the possibility that I might get late in my Statistics prelim exam if I didn’t decide fast! Intuition (or just a keen eye for fashion) helped me reach a decision: so I chose the black shirt in recognition to Sendong, hurriedly grabbed my Penshoppe jacket and ran to school on full speed.
The exam was beyond simple (thank God!) but due to the verifiable truth that I always skip lunch, I was starving after the exam. Kinda asked Legine, who happens to be starving too — more like all the time, HAHA, to take a photo of me wearing the shirt, so the random photo shoot follows! With the rest of the b*tches, we then went to Jolibee and talked about Sendong and some utterly serious stuff!
